Litigation
Litigation is defined as the process of carrying on a legal contest by judicial proceedings to determine and enforce legal rights. Any litigation not involving criminal charges may be called civil litigation, which encompasses every sort of case imaginable for individuals and businesses.
When disputes arise, attorneys often engage in negotiation on behalf of clients before filing suit. If differences cannot be settled, a lawsuit is filed and the attorneys for the parties involved in the lawsuit prepare their defense.
Litigation is a complicated process, yet there are actually limited types of remedies available under the law, Most often civil action is undertaken to reclaim money, property or services owed, obtain money (damages), requests for specific action called an injunction or temporary restraining orders, when there is an immediate need for a court order to have a party either do something or stop doing something.
