Eliot Spitzer’s ex to receive millions from divorce settlement

Former New York governor Eliot Spitzer’s ex-wife, Silda Wall Spitzer, will receive $240,000 every year for life and their Fifth Avenue home following a divorce settlement between the two, the New York Daily News reports.

Additionally, the settlement also requires Mr. Spitzer to provide Silda a new car every five years, money for entertainment and activities expenses, $100,000 for her charities, and a $7.5 million payout.

In 2008, the former New York governor had been involved in a sex scandal that brought his political career to an end. The couple decided to end their 26 years of marriage by filing for divorce in January.

Study says using Twitter may increase divorce risks

A study published in the journal of Cyberpsychology, Behavior, and Social Networking claims that active Twitter users are more likely to be involved in relationship conflicts that may ultimately lead to negative outcomes, such as infidelity and divorce.

The study, which was conducted by a doctoral student at the University of Missouri School of Journalism, surveyed 581 Twitter users from different age groups on how frequently they use Twitter, and how often they experienced Twitter-related confrontations with their romantic partners. The research concluded that active Twitter users are more likely to get involved in relationship conflicts, which increases the risk of cheating and divorce.
